2023 City Center Pavement Rehabilitation Project
Project Update
Construction of this project has been substantially completed. The contractor will return in the spring/summer of 2024 to take care of remaining minor work items.

Project Overview
Improvements with this proposed project include the rehabilitation of streets via a mill and overlay or reclamation. 36th Avenue from Vicksburg Lane to Plymouth Boulevard, 34th Avenue / 35th Avenue west of Plymouth Boulevard, and 34th Avenue east of the Plymouth Community Center, as shown on the project area map, are proposed to be milled and overlaid, which involves removing (milling) a portion of the existing street pavement and applying a new layer of asphalt over the entire roadway.
37th Avenue from Vicksburg Lane to Plymouth Boulevard and 34th Avenue between City Hall and the Plymouth Community Center, as shown on the project area map, are proposed to be reclaimed, which involves completely removing (reclaiming) the existing pavement and paving a new roadway surface.
Preventative maintenance will also be completed with the project, which includes:
- Installation of concrete pedestrian ramps, as necessary, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Replacement of concrete curb and gutter that are in poor condition
- Sidewalk replacement in areas of insufficient width or poor condition
- Repairs to water main valves
- Repairs to storm sewer catch basins
- Repairs to sanitary sewer manholes
