The Communications Division works with all city departments to distribute information about city news, events and programs to the public to help bolster trust and promote transparency. The division shares content through a variety of city communication channels, and disseminates information through print/digital newspapers and television media. 

The division oversees a variety of communications tools/tactics that help keep the public informed, including:

News releases are posted on the city website and shared via eNotify emails and social media. The division publishes a variety of publications each year, including a city newsletter (called the Plymouth News), which is mailed all residential and business addresses in Plymouth, as well as a Financial Extra newsletter insert and a digital water report. The division helps manage the city website and city social media platforms, in addition to the city's emergency notification system, Alert Plymouth.

The Communications Division also oversees the city’s cable television channel, which  includes televising and web streaming all regular City Council, Planning Commission, and Housing and Redevelopment Authority meetings. Additionally, the division coordinates programming produced for the city by CCX Media.
