In 2024, the city will flush water mains based on the schedule below:

  • April 15-17: Industrial/residential areas on both sides of I-494, south of Highway 55

  • April 17 to May 6: Residential areas west of I-494, except areas along both sides of Chankahda Trail west of I-494

  • May 6-23: Residential areas east of I-494, and areas along both sides of Chankahda Trail west of I-494

To find out when your specific area will be flushed, call 763-509-5950 or check the 2024 Spring Water Main Flushing (PDF).

During water main flushing, your water could be rusty and you may notice a reduction in water pressure. These conditions are more likely on the day crews are flushing mains in your neighborhood. Avoid doing laundry on that day. If you notice discolored water, let your outdoor water faucet run until the water is clear.

Water Main Breaks

If you see water bubbling to the surface along a roadway, it may be a water main break. If you suspect a water main break, please call the Water and Sewer Division at 763-509-5950. After regular business hours, call the public safety dispatcher at 952-258-5321.
