Recycling is collected every other week on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, depending on where you live. For those who sign up, weekly organics collection will take place the same day as garbage/recycling day.

To determine your collection day, see the recycling map and collection schedules. Place your cart at the curb by 6 a.m. on your collection day.

If your recycling cart was at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your recycling day of your collection week and was not picked up by the end of day, contact Republic Services. During snow emergencies collection can be delayed. If your scheduled day is during a snow emergency and you are missed, place your cart at the curb the next morning for collection.

Place all acceptable recyclable materials loosely in your recycling cart or organics cart. No sorting is necessary. Bags, boxes or containers with extra recycling are not permitted outside of the recycling cart and will not be removed. Extra recycling that does not fit in your cart may be taken to the Recycling Drop-Off Site. 

If you need a replacement cart, want an extra cart, or would like to change the size of you cart, contact Republic Services 763-972-3335 or newplymouthresident@republicservices.com. There is no additional fee for these requests.

Residents in single-family homes and townhomes pay a $4.25 per month solid waste fee. The fee is included in the bi-monthly utility billing and helps support the curbside recycling collection program, Recycling Drop-Off Site, Yard Waste Site, environmental education, special events like Drop-Off Day and the Adopt a Street program.

New in 2024: Due to state law and county mandate, all Plymouth residents will be charged for curbside organics collection beginning March 2024. The city’s recycling contractor, Republic Services, will now offer weekly curbside organics collection to all Plymouth households.

All households pay for organics recycling through their utility bill, like regular recycling. Residents must sign up to receive an organics cart to get started. Sign up and learn more.

Depending upon your collection area, text 'blue' or 'grey' to 292929 to receive reminders at the beginning of your collection week to place your recycling cart at the curb on your recycling day. To receive text alerts when holidays or weather affect your collection, text "republic" to 292929. Note that these alerts are not targeted specifically to the company's Plymouth customers.
