Finance
The city is on January 1 through December 31 fiscal calendar. The Finance Department is responsible for the day-to-day financial activities for the city, an operation with $363 million in net assets. The department ensures compliance with state and federal laws, the city charter and code of ordinances, and operates under Generally Accepted Accounting Practices and Standards (GAAP, GAAS). Finance plays an active role in long-term planning through detailed financial analysis, modeling and trend analysis. The department is also responsible for the following activities:
