Parks and Recreation has contracted with ISG Landscape Architects to develop preliminary concepts for the park at The Boulevard and is working with an internal team at the city with staff from water quality, planning and park maintenance to develop a program that highlights the existing and preserved tree canopy, creates innovative stormwater solutions and ties in seamlessly with the retail and residential components of the site.

The park is tentatively scheduled in the CIP construction in 2026 pending alignment with the developer's construction phasing. Once a concept is selected, staff will work though a public engagement strategy in 2025.

No formal approvals are in place yet for Coborn's.

Coborn's announced that they may be constructing a new, state-of-the-art grocery and liquor store as the grocery anchor for The Boulevard project. This project would be the Minnesota-founded grocer's debut into the Plymouth market. The Coborn's store would focus on a wide range of fresh produce, locally grown and made products, and prepared meal solutions.

The company has partnered with Rice Design and Construction Companies of Sauk Rapids, MN, as well as developers of The Boulevard, Roers Companies and Scannell Properties, on the construction of the store. Site planning is anticipated to begin in the upcoming months.

City officials and other project partners joined Summit Orthopedics for a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday, Oct. 1. The 80,000-square-foot medical building is expected to open for business in Oct. 2025.

The City Council approved the final plat and development contract for The Boulevard on July 23, 2024. The proposed plat consists of 18 lots, including a public plaza and placemaking components such as public art, landscaping, street furniture, and decorative paving material. Developers of individual lots must still apply for approval of the required PUD final plan, enter into a Site Improvement Performance Agreement, and obtain all necessary building permits before proceeding with construction of individual buildings and their related private site improvements.

The City Council approved the rezoning, PUD general plan, and preliminary plat for redevelopment of the site on March 12, 2024.

As of February 2024, tree clearing and building demolition are anticipated to begin in the next few weeks pending permits for those activities. Residents can expect to see large-scale tree removal, trucks coming/going from the property, construction sounds, etc. There will be a significant number of trees removed from the property, and there will be stockpiles of materials throughout construction. Road and building construction will likely happen in summer/fall 2024.
