Does rent vary depending on my income?

Yes, residents pay monthly rent that is equal to 37% of their adjusted monthly income. In addition, the Plymouth Housing and Redevelopment Authority sets monthly rent minimums and maximums each year. Residents' monthly rent must fall between the minimum and maximum, depending on income. The amounts for 2024 are as follows:

One bedroom: 

• Minimum $471
• Maximum (market rate) $1,061

Two bedroom:

• Minimum $634
• Maximum (market rate) $1,360

Can one person qualify for a two-bedroom apartment?

Yes, but one person in a two-bedroom apartment would not qualify for income-based pricing. A single occupant in a two-bedroom unit could be charged a maximum rate of $1,360 (in 2024).

Are meal service plans available?

Plymouth Towne Square is an independent living community designed for self-sufficient adults ages 55+. Meal plans, health services, cleaning and transportation services are not provided. However, services such as Metro Mobility, Plymouth Click-and-Ride and Interfaith Outreach offer transit service in the area.

Do apartments have in-unit washers and dryers?

The facility offers nine laundry rooms (three on each floor) with coin-operated machines. Laundry facilities are not available inside the apartment unit. 

Is heated garage parking available?

Plymouth Towne Square offers 68 underground heated garage parking stalls. Cost to use a garage stall is $60 per month. Outdoor surface parking in the front of the building is available at no cost.

What utilities are included in the rent?

Heat, water/sewer and trash collection are included. Resident pay for electricity, internet, telephone and cable/satellite TV.

Is Plymouth Towne Square a smoke-free facility?

Smoking is not allowed in the building or anywhere on the property.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, small cats and dogs (less than 25 pounds) are allowed.

Do you have a waiting list?

Plymouth Towne Square is typically 100% occupied. To be added to the waiting list, prospective residents must fill out an application. Currently, the one-bedroom waiting list is closed, though applications are being accepted for two-bedroom apartments. There is no application fee to be on the waiting list.

Is there a fee or security deposit?

Once an available apartment is accepted, prospective tenants pay a $35 processing fee and a $750 security deposit.

What is the term length of the lease?

Residents must provide a 30-day written notice to cancel the lease.

Can residents transfer apartments?

Residents may transfer from one apartment to another. There is a $500 fee for transferring.

Are transportation services available?

Plymouth Towne Square does not operate a shuttle bus service. However, services such as Metro Mobility, Plymouth Click-and-Ride and Interfaith Outreach offer transit service in the area.
