Hennepin County is offering campaign/yard sign recycling for residents at four locations Nov. 12-26.
The signs will be turned into pellets and recycled into new material.
Drop-Off Locations
Bloomington
- South Hennepin Recycling and Problem Waste Drop-Off Center, 1400 W. 96th Street
- Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday
- Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, is required
Brooklyn Park
- Hennepin County Recycling Center and Transfer Station, 8100 Jefferson Highway
- Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday
- Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, is required
Minneapolis
- Minneapolis North Transfer Station, 2710 Pacific Street N.
- Hours: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Collection container will be outside the gate
Minnetonka/Hopkins
- Minnetonka/Hopkins Recycling Center, 11522 Minnetonka Blvd.
- Hours: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Accepted Items
- Corrugated plastic (coroplast) signs
Items Not Accepted
- Paper, mailers, posters, banners, wooden/metal stakes
Tips for Preparation
- Make sure signs are clean and dry
- Remove stakes or posts (metal stakes may be recycled separately at various scrap metal recyclers)
Residents with signs are encouraged to check with the campaign before recycling to see if they are collecting signs for reuse.
