The City of Plymouth is set to hold the 2022 Drop-Off Day event April 29-30 at the Plymouth Maintenance Facility, 14900 23rd Ave. N.
To offer more efficient service and reduced wait times, this year’s two-day format includes the following schedule:
- 3-7 p.m. Friday, April 29 – Free items only
- 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30 – Free and pay items
The event provides an opportunity for residents to declutter and get rid of unwanted items. For a list of accepted items for each day, visit plymouthmn.gov/dropoff.
The event is for Plymouth residents only – identification for proof of residency is required.
Free Items Only: Friday, April 29
Only free items will be accepted Friday, April 29 – all other items will be turned away. Free items include bicycles and bicycle parts, textiles and home goods, paper to shred, used oil, light bulbs and household batteries.
Free and Pay Items: Saturday, April 30 – Discount for Prepayment
Free items and pay items will be accepted on Saturday, April 30. Pay items include tires, scrap metal, mattresses and box springs, vehicle batteries, electronics, appliances (non-commercial), bulky items, remodeling material and construction debris.
Fee Structure, Prepayment Discount
For participants with pay items, cost is per-vehicle, per-trip. Discounts are available for residents who prepay online. Those who prepay online must bring an electronic or paper copy of the receipt to be scanned, as well as proof of residency. Those who do not bring a receipt will be asked to pay again at the day-of rate.
- $25 per vehicle – or $20 with prepayment (save $5)
- $50 per vehicle with a trailer (maximum combined length is 40 feet) – or $40 with prepayment (save $10)
- $250 for box trucks/moving trucks (maximum length is 25 feet) – or $200 with prepayment (save $50)
Residents may pay at the event via credit card or cash (exact cash preferred), or prepay online at plymouthmn.gov/dropoff.
Entering the Site
To access the site, vehicles should turn onto Fernbrook Lane from Highway 55 and follow traffic signage to be routed to the site. Vehicles will not be able to turn onto Fernbrook Lane from County Road 6. To view a traffic flow map for the event, visit plymouthmn.gov/dropoff.
Each year, city staff make improvements in an effort to reduce wait times and increase efficiency. However, this is a popular annual event and wait times may vary depending on traffic volume. The site will close to all vehicles not in line by 7 p.m. Friday, April 29 or 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30.
For safety reasons, residents are asked to remain in their vehicles while at the site.
