Charges Filed in Plymouth Child Pornography Case – Case #09050689
A formal complaint was signed by Plymouth Police today charging Shawn Douglas Godfrey, Age 26, of 3770 Rosewood Lane, Plymouth with possession and distribution of child pornography. Godfrey was being held at the Hennepin County Adult Detention Facility since his physical arrest on Friday, June 11.
Officers had previously gone to Godfrey’s home and taken his computer equipment on a search warrant of the home. Forensics done on the computer showed numerous images of child pornography on the equipment, leading to today’s charges.
Godfrey also has indicated a history of having worked at several daycare facilities in the area in recent years. Because this work and possible volunteer activity put Godfrey in contact with small children, police are asking anyone with information on any further illegal activity involving Godfrey to call the police department at 763-509-5160.
