Post Date:10/18/2016 10:14 a.m.
The Plymouth Public Safety Department is accepting applications for volunteers interested in bolstering Plymouth’s emergency preparedness by volunteering for the Community Emergency Response Team.
CERT volunteers play a critical role in providing support to police, fire and paramedic services at emergency scenes and disaster sites. They also work proactively to participate in community education, emergency preparedness planning, and crime, fire and injury prevention activities.
All training is provided and applicants need not have previous public safety experience. All interested residents are encouraged to apply – CERT volunteers represent a wide range of ages, backgrounds and professions.
Following 24 total hours of initial training, all CERT members will be required to make a two-year commitment. In addition to completing a CERT-specific volunteer application process, successful candidates must be Plymouth residents, have a high school degree or equivalent, be at least 21 years old, have a Minnesota driver’s license and pass a criminal background check.
Applications (PDF) are due Wednesday, Nov. 30. For more information, contact 763-509-5230.
