May 27 Update from MnDOT: Schmidt Lake Road at I-494 has reopened.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced that County Road 47 between Yucca and Teakwood lanes will close beginning Tuesday, May 31. The road will remain closed through early July while crews construct the northbound Interstate 494 bridge over County Road 47.
Motorists will be detoured around the closure via Northwest Boulevard, Bass Lake Road and County Road 101/Brockton Lane.
Northbound I-494 ramps at Rockford Road
The northbound I-494 ramps to and from Rockford Road also will close Tuesday, May 31. Both ramps will remain closed through early July.
Motorists intending to access northbound I-494 from Rockford Road will be detoured to southbound I-494, eastbound Highway 55 and northbound I-494. Those intending to exit northbound I-494 at Rockford Road will be detoured to eastbound Highway 55, northbound Northwest Boulevard and Rockford Road.
The closures are needed while crews make maintenance repairs to both ramps.
The work is part of a two-year construction project on I-494 that includes:
