City of Plymouth Seeks Applicants for Vacant Planning Commission Seat

The City of Plymouth is seeking applicants to fill an immediate opening on the Plymouth Planning Commission, a citizen advisory commission to the Plymouth City Council. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 15.

The vacancy is for the Ward 1 seat on the commission. Ward 1 includes the northwest quadrant of Plymouth. The person appointed to fill this seat must reside in Ward 1. The appointee will complete a term that expires Jan. 31, 2017. The Planning Commission typically meets the first and third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m.

The commission reviews development applications to ensure they conform to the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance. In addition, the commission: considers amendments to the Comprehensive Plan; handles periodic review and study of the Plymouth Zoning Ordinance and subdivision regulations; studies applications for amendments to the Zoning Ordinance; and reviews applications for special permits, site plans and preliminary and final plats.
