Summer Series Skateboard Contest

The City of Plymouth has partnered with 3rd Lair Skate Park and Skate Shop to hold a free skateboard contest, which has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 13 at Plymouth Creek Skatepark, 3625 Fernbrook Lane N. The original contest date was postponed due to inclement weather.

Registration begins at 5 p.m. Aug. 13, and the contest begins at 6 p.m. Participants must bring their own gear.

The public is invited to watch as participants compete in a jam-style contest. There is no cost to attend or compete.

The contest offers four divisions in which participants may compete. While a girls'/women's division is available, girls/women may enter any division. Divisions include: 

  • Beginner: Recommended for newer riders ages 12 and younger
  • Intermediate: Recommended for riders ages 17 and younger
  • Advanced: Open to riders of all ages
  • Girls/Women: Open to riders of all ages

The event will feature prizes, music and more. Prizes will be awarded to the top three participants from each category.

Summer Series Skateboard Contest is sponsored by Kyle Vitense State Farm and the Plymouth Lions Club.

In the event of inclement weather, the event may be canceled. To check for cancellations the day of the event, call the Parks and Recreation Department weather hotline at 763-509-5205.
