Primavera

Primavera, Plymouth's annual springtime celebration of the arts, is set for Thursday, April 25 through Sunday, April 28 at the Plymouth Community Center, 14800 34th Ave. N.

A partnership of the City of Plymouth and Plymouth Arts Council, the four-day event provides an opportunity for the public to view and celebrate fine art. Original juried artwork by local and regional artists, as well as artwork by Plymouth area high school students, will be featured in the art gallery and nearby classrooms at the community center.

Adult artwork will remain on display in the Plymouth Community Center Art Gallery for public viewing through Friday, June 7. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

  • Primavera Awards Ceremony: 7-8 p.m.

Saturday, April 27

  • Exhibit Open: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Performance by the Plymouth Concert Band Ensembles: 10 a.m. to noon
  • Artist Talk: Jim Clark 1-2 p.m.
  • Event Entertainment: The Blue Lotus Dancers  3-4 p.m.

Sunday, April 28 through Friday, June 7

  • Exhibit Open: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Online Application to Enter Artwork

Artists must submit artwork using the online submission form. Submissions are only accepted for artists entering work in the adult category (18 years and older). Students interested in submitting artwork must coordinate with their school’s art teacher.

Artists are asked to submit photographs of artwork marked with the artist’s name, media and framed dimension with the completed application. Submissions will not be returned.

Cost to enter the first piece is $30, and $10 for the second piece. The entry fee is non-refundable and payable to the Plymouth Arts Council.

Applicants will be notified of the jury’s decision by Friday, March 15. To register or for more information, visit plymouthmn.gov/primavera.
