Kids Fest

Image of 7 people dressed in bright costumes with the text "The Little Mermen" in front of themThe City of Plymouth is set to hold the annual Kids Fest event 5-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 at the Hilde Performance Center, 3500 Plymouth Blvd.

A summer carnival with a splash of learning, Kids Fest features inflatables, games and entertainment held on the Hilde stage and surrounding lawn. The event is free and open to the public. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from food trucks at the event.

Activities and Attractions

Event activities and attractions include a STEAM Zone (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math), sponsor activities, face painting, balloons, inflatables, bounce houses and more.

Musical Entertainment Features Disney Tribute Band

The Little Mermen, “the ultimate Disney tribute band,” will perform twice on the main stage during Kids Fest. This high-energy ensemble covers nearly a century of sing-along hits from both classic and modern Disney soundtracks – including favorites from The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Frozen and Encanto – while dressed as various Disney characters.

Free Entertainment Schedule

Entertainment is as follows:

  • 5:30 p.m. – The Little Mermen (Hilde Main Stage)
  • 5:30 p.m. – Dazzlin’ Dave National Yo-Yo Master Strolling Entertainment
  • 6:30 p.m. – Dazzlin’ Dave National Yo-Yo Master Stage Show (Small Stage)
  • 7 p.m. – The Little Mermen (Hilde Main Stage)

At press time, Kids Fest sponsors included Kyle Vitense State Farm, Gateway Fiber and Plymouth Lions Club.

Construction cone iconAccess to Hilde Performance Center detoured due to Plymouth Boulevard construction

Beginning in May: Plymouth Boulevard is set to undergo major improvements between Highway 55 and Rockford Road (County Road 9) beginning in May. The Hilde Performance Center will remain accessible to residents and visitors throughout construction, but attendees may be required to take detoured routes.
