The Communications Division works in five primary areas.

The communications office works with departments to distribute timely information about news and events to local newspapers and other media. News releases are posted on this website.

The division publishes 10 regular publications each year, including six city newsletters, called the Plymouth News, and four newsletter supplements that focus on specific topics -- public safety, city finances and environmental issues. The supplements are mailed inside the Plymouth News.

The communications staff manages the city’s cable television operations. This includes televising and web streaming all regular City Council and Planning Commission meeting as well as coordinating programming produced for the city by Channel 12 and Northwest Community Television.

Communications staff works collaboratively with the IT Division to manage the city website and the city employee intranet site. The division also coordinates the annual Plymouth City Sampler each spring. The sampler offers residents an informal venue to meet the mayor and city council as well as pick up information on city programs.

The communications office manages the city’s environmental education program and coordinates the annual Environmental Quality Fair.
